Marblehead Beach Portrait Event - (1)-On the rocks
Over Labor Day weekend, many of you might be aware that I hosted a "Beach Portrait" event up in Marblehead, MA. The weather was beautiful and I got the opportunity to photograph 7 very fun and photogenic families! I am going to be uploading a few favorites from each of the families I had the pleasure to work with. Here are the Cronins...I tried out a few "high saturation filters" with the girls and I love the way they came out!

Little Leo..and family, at long last!
I was so happy to FINALLY get to meet this little man...one of my wedidng clients, Jen, called me 6months ago to let me know she was having a baby--and booked me to do a family portrait for her mom's 70th at the same time. Though everyone is healthy and happy now--it's been a rough 6 months for this family and after many reschedules--Jen and little Leo (accompanied by her mother, sister-in-law Lynn and Lynn's two adorable kids) made it to my studio for Leo's first portrait session. As we never got a chance to do a "family portrait" for Donna (Jen's mom) - I snapped a few of her with her grandkids - hope they love these like I do!
Here are a few of my favorites.

Mother and child...on the other side of the camera
One of the biggest challenges and joys a photographer has is to take photos of a fellow photographer! My friend Amy Lewis has a child portrait business called "Sitting Pretty Portraits" and recently just had her 2nd child...baby girl Ella. I offered to do a session with her so she got some photos of herself with her girls (such a rarity for us photographers) - and I am so happy with how they came out! Amy is such a beautiful woman...and her girls are equally adorable. Here are a few favorites from our session.
3 Generations of beautiful women...Amy, her mom and Amy's girls Lilly and Ella.
The photo Amy wanted most...sweet sisters. With a VERY active 2year old, this one was a tough one to get--but you'd never know it from this photo...so loving.
I love shooting outdoors--so though we did most of our shoot in the studio, per Amy's request--I had to snap this one of little Ella outside in my garden...Mother Nature's gift.

Sisters...Family...and AuPairs like Family
Family...is there anything closer? Well at the fun-filled family portrait shoot I did in Marblehead last weekend, I had the pleasure to not only photograph a close family...but one who consider their au pairs family too. So much so that 3 of their past au pairs flew in to visit and were asked to be a part of the family photo! Meryl and her sister Marcie are such great women - and their boys...well--just look at some of the highlights from our shoot and see for yourself. Not only was the Thompson home a gorgeous venue, but it's family members (and their au pairs) are gorgeous too! Gotta love their fun energy too...it's sessions like this that make me love my job!
